hi, i’m a non-korean new to the world of korean variety shows. i’ve seen some of 1n2d, wgm and fo – - – why is it that those 2 shows are higher rated than 1n2d?
i just love the very organic feel of 1n2d. will it be something i will never understand because i’m not korean?
@confused: Please give the show a try if you haven’t already done so. I’m non-Korean and I still enjoy watching the raw episodes each week. Of course, seeing the subbed version is like 10x better. In addition to being terribly funny, the show also gives the viewers some exposure of the Korean culture. It’s educational well-masked. I have no doubt that you’ll be fine watching it with subs. The Happy Sunday program consists of 2 shows: KKO KKO Tour and 1N2D. The ratings that you see each week is that of the whole Happy Sunday program. The number tends to look low (and lower when compared to WGM and FO) due to the low ratings of KKO. So if you look at 1N2D separately, the ratings usually are very good, higher than WGM most of the time. I usually post the correct single rating number for 1N2D at the top (which has been consistently in the 20s).
The format and cast of all three shows are different, attracting different types of fans. FO works on the concept of guest celebrities where as WGM/1N2D has a fixed cast. So you see more fluctuations in FO ratings depending on which celebrities are coming for that episode.

@Dinta Heart, to dl from dm, all you have to do is click to the link of the vid.Then when u see the vid,move ur curser to the top right of the vid, then you will see ‘dl this video’,click on it and just wait until it has finished downloading.

We sub at the mercy of our kind-hearted translators.
Variety shows’ content often doubled dramas in the number of lines translated (spoken convos and captions). We are grateful for their time and dedication.
The second most time consuming part of subbing is the timing of the transcript. Once the translation is available, the timer would time the script to the video file. Next step is to forward the timed file to the typesetter for fine tuning of the font. (Heather is the BEST typesetter that I’ve seen – bias and all, hehe) File then goes to the Editor and QCer for check (spelling, grammar, timing, etc.) before the soft sub is released. Afterward, the softsub is encoded onto the video file to give you the hardsub file. Most of the time, the file would then be uploaded onto a streaming site like YT/DM.
@Nurul Huda: Usually I don’t advocate this, but the best way would be to subscribe to iheartmusik2 You Tube channel. We will upload full subbed episodes there. Look under Linkies for link.
